How to Spot a Kratom Scam Website: 12 Red Flags

Kratom’s popularity has attracted exactly the sellers you would expect: kratom scam websites built to capture card details, move unverified product, or lock buyers into recurring charges. Most are identifiable in under five minutes if you know what to look for. Here are the twelve red flags — any one of them is a reason to leave; two is a certainty.

The 12 red flags

1. No batch-specific certificate of analysis. No dated, numbered COA from a named accredited lab means no purchase. Learn to read one: our COA guide.
2. Medical miracle claims. “Cures anxiety”, “replaces opioids”, “treats pain” — all illegal claims for kratom, and the clearest possible signal of a rogue operator. The FDA has sent warning letters for exactly this language.
3. Prices dramatically below market. See what kratom should cost; deep underpricing means old, weak or adulterated product.
4. No physical address or phone number. A contact form alone is not accountability — compare our contact page.
5. Free trial / auto-ship traps. “Just pay shipping” offers that silently convert to monthly billing. Classic, documented, and grounds to close the tab.
6. No age verification. Professional vendors enforce 21+ at checkout — see why age verification matters. Scammers do not bother.
7. Stock photos only. No real product photography, no batch images, no facility photos.
8. Anonymous domain and payment details. WHOIS privacy is normal; a domain registered last month with no company name anywhere is not.
9. Reviews that cannot be verified. A wall of five-star site reviews with no external footprint. Check independent platforms and forums.
10. Missing policy pages. No shipping policy, no refund terms, no legal disclaimers — or terms copied from an unrelated site.
11. Synthetic blends marketed as kratom. “Kratom-plus” products with synthetic additives — documented in kratom adulteration explained — and a serious safety issue.
12. Pressure tactics. Countdown timers, fake “only 2 left” counters and aggressive pop-ups are the furniture of scam shops.

The five-minute verification routine

1. Open the lab results or COA page. Real one present? Continue.
2. Google the lab’s name plus “accreditation”. Real lab? Continue.
3. Call or email support with a specific question about the current batch.
4. Check the domain age and company details in the footer.
