What actually degrades

The five signs your kratom has passed its best
- Smell shift — fresh powder smells earthy, herbal; aging powder goes flat, musty or “old hay”.
- Color drift — vibrants fade toward uniform brown.
- Clumping — soft lumps from humidity; hard clumps mean moisture got in.
- Mold — any visible growth or mildew odor: discard immediately, not “salvage”.
- Weak, flat character — the subjective read: noticeably milder than the same batch’s earlier servings.
