The four enemies
- Oxygen — the primary degrader; constant air exposure slowly oxidizes alkaloids.
- Light — especially UV; direct sunlight is the fastest way to fade leaf character.
- Heat — reaction speed climbs with temperature; a kitchen shelf above the stove is the worst spot in the house.

How to store kratom powder
- Keep it sealed. Original resealable pouches work if closed properly; airtight glass jars are better for opened stock.
- Cool and dark. A pantry or drawer away from appliances — not a windowsill, not above the stove.

- Skip the daily fridge. Refrigerators cycle humidity and condensation forms on every opening — worse than a cool, dry cupboard. Freezing is defensible for long-term sealed storage only.
