How kratom tea is brewed

The basic method has not changed in a century:

1. Measure your kratom powder with a 0.1-gram scale — never a spoon.
2. Simmer — do not hard-boil — the powder in water for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally. A squeeze of lemon juice is traditional; the acidity is said to help extraction.
3. Strain through a fine mesh sieve, muslin cloth or reusable tea bag to remove the plant material.
4. Drink warm, sweetened with honey or sugar if you like.

Some people add the strained powder back for a second, weaker brew. Others skip straining entirely and drink the powder with the tea.

Tea vs other preparation methods
